From a Small Desk to the World – A Journey of Precision and Vietnamese Passion

PriDesk didn’t begin as a business plan.
It started from a quiet corner of a student’s desk – a place where passion met curiosity, and where the love for handcrafted beauty began to grow.

In 2017, while still studying at the Hanoi University of Architecture, Đúc became captivated by the glowing charm of resin art — especially handcrafted table lamps that brought both warmth and creativity into a space. That fascination soon evolved into an obsession with materials, form, and artistic detail.

After graduating in 2018, instead of following the conventional path of architecture, he pursued a bold vision: combining his love for resin craftsmanship with his personal hobby of mechanical keyboards.
He began making his very first custom keyboard cases — raw, imperfect, yet deeply personal.

2019 – A Turning Point of Survival

2019 marked a critical turning point in Duc’s journey.
Amid countless failures — resin that wouldn’t cure, warped wood, flawed designs — everything seemed to be heading toward a dead end. There was no workshop, no professional equipment, and the funds had nearly run dry. At that moment, giving up would mean throwing away two years of effort — and truly becoming a failure. But continuing seemed impossible without money to fix the mistakes.

It was the most difficult time — a fragile line between giving up and pushing forward.

But as the saying goes:
“When you truly want something, the entire universe conspires to help you achieve it.”

Duc held on to his belief — a strong intuition that he was close to a breakthrough. He decided to sell his motorbike — his most valuable possession from student days — and borrowed his father’s tire press machine to pawn for extra capital.

What many don’t know is that Duc’s father is a car mechanic, running a small repair shop with some tools that could help Duc’s work — like a CNC machine. But Duc couldn’t sell that — it was the family's livelihood. Instead, he asked to borrow the tire press, even though pawning it stirred concern within the family. If he failed again, they would lose a crucial tool for earning a living and risk the family's financial stability.

Despite their fears, Duc’s parents placed their full trust in their son — believing in the fire in his eyes and the unwavering dedication he showed every day.

And luckily — or more accurately, as a well-earned reward for responsible risk-taking — the breakthrough finally came.

That final attempt, under the most desperate circumstances, produced a masterpiece unlike anything Duc had created before: a resin keyboard case that was flawless, precise down to the finest edge, with lower production costs than anyone could have expected — and most importantly, ready for stable production. Until now, he still studied the behavior of materials, the strength of different types of wood, resin curing techniques, and how to ensure every edge, cut, and color could withstand time and weather.

In 2021, after nearly four years of tireless experimentation, he launched his first online shop on Etsy under the name PriDesk — short for “Pride on Your Desk.”
It represents the belief that every workspace deserves something unique and personal, something to be proud of.

Within three years, PriDesk gained attention from customers across the U.S., Europe, and beyond, with nearly 20,000 handcrafted pieces sold. But more than the numbers, what matters most to Đúc is the joy his customers feel when they unbox a one-of-a-kind handcrafted keyboard case — made just for them.

Each piece is customizable with personal touches like logos, initials, or meaningful quotes, handcrafted using Vietnam’s renowned artistry — and built to last without warping, fading, or cracking, even in extreme climates.
